Botanical Watercolour Workshops for Beginners
A lovely and relaxing Watercolour Workshop for Beginners, inspired by beautiful dried flowers and based at the magical Wyresdale Park.
There's three simple stages to the workshop... Four if you include coffee and cake.
To start, we will do a little warm up exercise, getting comfortable with watercolours and relaxing your wrist (and mind).
I will then show you some simple watercolour techniques, inspired by the shapes and textures of the dried flowers. You will then practise the techniques and I will be on hand to guide you further if needed.
Then it's coffee and cake time (other drinks are available). There will be a 15 minuet break to go and get your complimentary cake and coffee from the Apple Store Cafe.
And then finally it's time to start your 'final' piece and put what you've learnt into practise! I know a blank piece of paper can be daunting, so I will provide examples and inspiration to help get your creative juices flowing and we can discuss your ideas together.
Lovely reviews about the workshops...
'Carla has a lovely way of teaching and explaining. I learnt several techniques in one lesson and I can’t wait for my next class! I highly recommend Carla’s watercolour workshops.' - Nicola 2020
'What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! I'm not naturally a creative person, but I found Carla's painting style so therapeutic and enjoyable, I will definitely be booking on again.' - Angela 2021
'I had previously dabbled with watercolour paints, but not in such loose and free style. Carla has a very different and laidback approach to teaching, which really helped me to 'loosen up' and actually made the whole painting process more enjoyable for me, so thank you.' - Jane 2022
Wyresdale Park in Scorton, Lancashire - PR3 1BA.
A truly magical place full of whimsy and charm and the home of my (Carla Gebhard) shop/studio. It’s an endless source of inspiration for my own artwork and I'm sure you will find it inspiring too!
The workshop will be held in one of the lovely converted barns across from my shop. It's lovely and spacious and has the perfect light for painting.
What's included -
High quality art supplies.
Coffee and cake from the Apple Store Cafe.
A little bunch of dried flowers to take home.
And of course your final master piece (which will be A4 in size).
** Please note - the workshop space can get a little chilly at this time of year, so make sure you wear lots of light layers.
