I’m so pleased to be teaching more Botanical Watercolour Workshops for Beginners at the beautiful Beetham Nurseries again this year, inspired by the natural, imperfect beauty of dried flowers.

Just like all my workshops, I take a relaxed, no-pressure approach to painting. I encourage you to embrace the fluid nature of watercolours, where there are no right or wrong strokes—only happy accidents to explore. This approach not only allows for creative freedom but also brings a mindful, calming aspect to painting. It’s the perfect chance to unwind, relax, and let your creativity flourish!

What to Expect During the Workshop:

This 3-hour workshop is split into two parts. The first two hours focus on easing into the process—relaxing your wrist (and mind!) and experimenting with the paints. You'll create at least three small practice pieces, giving you a fun, low-pressure way to explore different techniques and make lovely art. After that, we'll break for a delicious homemade cake and coffee from Beetham Nurseries—plenty of time to reflect and decide which flower(s) you'd like to focus on for your final piece. The last hour is all about putting your skills into action, as you create your masterpiece at a relaxed pace.
